Merry Christmas!

I can only affect my tiny small patch of space in this almighty universe.

But that’s ok. That’s what is important to me and my connections. Hopefully by cultivating, nourishing and cherishing this small patch it will have a ripple effect as they say and ultimately it will affect more.

Obviously when he was younger

As many of you know my “little” cousin is over in Afghanistan, I also wrote about him here. He is doing his bit in the Australian Defence Force. He hasn’t got long to go so I’m very happy, as are his parents and brother I’m sure.

I know he’s not the first, I know he won’t be the last but when it affects my little world I look at ways in which I can cope but more importantly how I can help him cope.

I have absolutely no idea what it is like to be in a war torn county anywhere in the world, I can not conceptualise what it is like to leave your safe secure country and live for at least 7-8 months in one of these countries serving our country and protecting your mates.

I’m not entering into any debates about yes and no, why and why not or stay/pull them out.

My aim is simple: to support those I love in situations and decisions they have made.

So here’s the deal. My cousin is over there for Christmas. Crap time to be over there really. We love our Christmas routines and truly myself and my cousins never get sick of one another no matter how many hours we’ve spent together.

So this blog post is my

Merry Christmas to Sam.

I’m not going to focus on what we’ll miss without you with us, you already know this and besides it will just give you a big head ;P

I wish you a wonderful Christmas. Sending big christmas wishes to your “brothers” who are over there with you. We are sending you all big hugs and kisses and great big prayers and positive thoughts to come home safely very soon!

I would love for anyone who reads this post to pop a Christmas message to Sam or any of the troops over there in the comments section below.

If you do have someone you know, by all means send me a picture and I will post it up here too.

I will send this link to Sam on Christmas Eve so let’s bombard him to keep him busy all night.

A big thanks in advance people.

Merry Christmas Tough Guy 😉

Christmas Eve carols aren’t the same without you so here’s a tune hehe!

  12. Hey Sam. You have become a bit of an icon to us over here. You should be very proud of your cousin Cath. She keeps us updated with all your messages and lets us know how you are going. My wish to you and your mates over there is to be safe, finish your tour and return safely home to your family and friends who miss and love you dearly. Christmas wishes to you all over there as well. We are proud of any Aussies who are fighting for our country, but to know that Cath’s little cousin is there makes me feel honoured to know someone is doing the right thing. God speed Sam. And thank you. #hugsforsam
