Express Your Emotions. Do not suppress what and how you are feeling. You need to feel the emotion even if its uncomfortable. Do not let it sit to settle into your body. The energy stores up. Understanding and feeling your emotions helps you adapt better in stressful situations. Denying this experience of the feeling state may eventually impact your ability to work through discomforts but also empathising with others.

  1. Thanks Cath 🙂 it’s amazing how Mental Health awareness month actually coincides with the anniversary of my own diagnosis. So I’m not suppressing it this month, I’m taking it and getting it out there. I want to do my bit to smash the stigma associated with mental illness, especially when figures are as high as 20-25% of all Australians living with a mental illness.
