Use the worry barometer. How worrying is it? Lets place perspective. 0-10 is a great scale to use. With 0 being no worry and 10 being something significant like illness or death. By helping the younger put their worry in perspective and to compare the significance of daily worries to life changing and altering worries is important. It encourages that we shouldn’t sweat the small stuff and by reflecting realise that these issues don’t really have a big effect on our lives so why worry about them and feed into that and be distressed. In some ways it is like a centering or grounding exercise and helps the situation of worry be less serious.
