Bringing Little Spirit ~ Feelings #5

Identify a circle of friends/people who help with their feelings. Like adults, children and youth feel comfortable talking about certain topics with particular people and with who they can identify or feel the person will be able to understand them or help them most. If its not you as their primary carer that’s okay, as long as they are talking that’s the main thing and why it’s so important to formulate and list a group of supportive people. This way the young person knows they have a trusted and supportive group of people who will help them. Have the list of people somewhere visible. Strategies are always most effective when they are easy to access and don’t need too much thinking when a person or child is distressed already.

Hold Space.
